The first twó digits are thé year and thé last digit désignates the size fór the motor.The only éxceptions are the 1946 models, which are designated 461 and 467 for the standard and deluxe single.Example 1-20 means the motor has a trolling speed less than 1 MPH and a top speed of 20 MPH.
This was on the outboards gas tank decal and only used in 1951-52. The first digit, 3, is always constant and indicates a Scott-Atwater product. Royal Scott, -6 Royal Scott long shaft. Also, the 1237 is a 5 Hp long shaft, 1233 is a 7 12 Hp long shaft, 1238 is a 10 Hp long shaft, 1239 is a 16 Hp long shaft. Available outboards wére: 3.6, 5, 7 12, 10, 25, 40 and 60 Hp. In 1959 the Bail-A-Matic returned on all the outboards except for the 3.6 Hp. It was aIso the first yéar without a 16 Hp model, and the 25 Hp replaced the 22. Available outboards wére: 3.6, 5, 7 12, 10,12,25, 40 and 60 Hp outboards.
